Meet My Tribe

My husband Devon is a firefighter, so you can only imagine the hectic lifestyle we have with him being gone every third day. But, we manage to make it work and we set aside time for us and our relationship as much as we can when he’s home. He’s the chef in the house! Loves to cook on the grill. Sports and being with family/friends are his favorite.

So meet the man who stole my heart six years ago!

Devon and I have actually known each other our whole lives (I have pictures of us at my fourth birthday party!) but we got reconnected the summer of 2011. We got engaged July 4th, 2015 at the Biltmore house in Asheville, North Carolina. I had no idea he was going to do it then and I was totally surprised! On August 5th, 2016, we said “I Do!” We had a destination wedding in St. Augustine, Florida with close friends and family. After we returned home (we stayed in Florida for a week for our honeymoon!) we had a big reception party. Having a destination wedding was the best decision I have ever made, and if I had to do it again I wouldn’t change a thing! Being a newlywed has been so much fun and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us!

So then there’s this little guy. Devon and I rescued him February 5th, 2016. We named him Rookie because Devon was a rookie at the fire department at the time. He’s a golden retriever mix, and since we don’t know his real birthday we just go by his adoption day to celebrate! He is five years old, and loves to snuggle. I never thought I could love a little furry animal as much as I love him. He has the attitude of a toddler and likes to eat my chapstick when I’m not looking. He loves to ride in the car and pose for pictures when I whip out my camera. Overall he’s been the perfect dog for our family and we love him so much! I’m sure you’ll be seeing his cute face on my blog from time to time ♥
